Science - Living, Dead or Never Alive?

As part of Year 2’s work on ‘Living things and their habitats’ we have been sorting items into living. dead and never lived. We went on a walk in our local environment and discussed which category the things we found belong to.

Christmas sewing with parents and carers

As part of our work in DT, Year 2 designed and planned their hanging Christmas decorations. We followed our plans to design our decorations using our sewing skills. We had lots of helpful hands to help us out and we were amazed by our final product! smiley

Algorithm workshop with Mr Sutton

Mr Sutton came into Year 2 to teach us all about algorithms. We learned what this meant and had a go at programming a robot car to move around the maze. We tested out our algorithms and then had a go at ‘debugging’.

Anti Bullying Week

This week in English we have focused on the book 'How to be a Lion'.

We created posters to encourage and spread positivity to the main character Leonard.

In the story Leonard writes a poem that celebrates being different. We responded to this poetry by exploring the meaning, drawing how it made us feel and performing it to the class.
