Music
At Lawn Primary and Nursery School we strongly believe music provides children with a rich source of cultural, emotional and personal pleasure; stimulating creativity and discovery as well as developing an aesthetic awareness. Our children enjoy taking part in whole school music lessons.
We use the Charanga online music resources which gives the children an opportunity to experience music from a wide variety of cultures, genres and ages. This scheme also helps to support the children in building confidence in producing their own live performances. There is also the opportunity to undertake individual music tuition in a wide variety of instruments.
We are very proud of our growing ensemble groups and Lawn Performing Arts Club (LPAC). The children perform in concerts both within school and in the local community. It’s not just our children who have the music bug.
Every child has the opportunity to express themselves creatively through performances, investigations and explorations. From the day children enter school in Reception, they dress up, role-play, make, build, sing, paint, draw and dance which continues throughout their primary career.
