Physical Education
Our school believes that Physical Education should be experienced in a safe and supportive environment; it is vital and unique in its contribution to pupil’s physical and emotional development. The Physical Education curriculum aims to develop pupils’ physical competence and confidence, and their ability to use these to perform in a range of activities.
Physical Education provides opportunities for pupils to be creative, competitive and to be confident to encounter challenges as individuals and in groups and teams.
We use the Real PE Scheme and the PE Passport to help plan and deliver learning in PE. Pupils also have the opportunity to attend sports-based clubs. Our Y3 pupils, work with the Royal Ballet in their Primary Steps Programme which supplements their dance curriculum in Y3 as well as enable several pupils to attend further workshops with the Royal Ballet after school.
Swimming is taught in KS2. We aim for all of our pupils to meet the requirements for swimming in the National Curriculum.
