Nurture Support
The nurture team work together to provide nurture support for our pupils. We liaise closely with the SENDCO and teaching staff, as well as parents to identify and then support any areas of need in relation to social, emotional, and mental health. Our aim is to remove barriers to learning; promoting emotional well-being in our pupils.
Our welcoming and comfortable Nurture space is the perfect environment for both one to one and small group sessions.
The Nurture Team also provide a reassuring presence for pupils during the lunch time period.
ELSA
ELSAs are Emotional Literacy Support Assistants. At Lawn Primary and Nursery school we have two members of staff who have received specific additional training from educational psychologists from whom they receive on going supervision. Their role is to support children and young people in school to understand and regulate their own emotions whilst also respecting the feelings of those around them.
Teachers will refer a pupil into this service when they have identified that they may benefit from further support around their emotional literacy. We would also wecome referrals from Parents, please get in touch to discuss.
