Geography

At Lawn Primary and Nursery School, we believe geography helps children understand who they are, where they belong and how they connect to the wider world. From the Early Years through to Year 6, children explore their local area while learning about countries, communities and environments across the globe.

By comparing different places and cultures, children develop a broader understanding of the world, an appreciation of diversity and an awareness of important environmental issues. Through engaging, hands-on learning, they build geographical knowledge and skills, develop excellence in their learning, show resilience when tackling big questions, grow in confidence when sharing their ideas, and demonstrate respect for people, places, cultures and the environment.

Our aim is to nurture curious, informed and responsible young people who understand their place in an interconnected world, leaving Lawn as global citizens and truly "Children to be Proud Of."
