Welcome from the Headteacher

On behalf of the Governing Body, staff and children, welcome to Lawn Primary and Nursery School.

I am extremely proud to be Headteacher of such a warm, caring and ambitious school. At Lawn, we are a community where everyone is valued, respected and encouraged to thrive. We believe that every child matters, and we are committed to providing the very best education - academically, socially and emotionally - so that all pupils can achieve their full potential.

Our school is built on high expectations, strong relationships and a shared belief in the importance of kindness, responsibility and pride. We want every child to leave us as a confident, compassionate and motivated learner, ready for the next stage of their journey and proud of who they are and what they can achieve.

Our curriculum is ambitious, inclusive and designed to inspire curiosity, independence and a love of learning. Rooted in our vision - “Children to be proud of” - and underpinned by our values of Excellence, Confidence, Resilience and Respect, we provide a rich, coherent and progressive curriculum that builds knowledge, skills and character over time. We place great importance on reading, language, writing and mathematics, whilst also offering a broad range of enriching experiences, high-quality teaching and opportunities for children to grow in confidence and broaden their horizons.

We are fortunate to have an on-site nursery for children aged two to four, allowing us to offer continuity of care, support and relationships from age two through to age eleven. Our extensive grounds also play an important part in school life, providing inspiring opportunities for learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Parents and carers are an essential part of our school community, and we value the strong partnership we share with families. By working together, we can ensure that every child feels safe, supported and empowered to succeed.
