Christmas Lunch with Christmas Jumpers!

What an ideal day to wear a Christmas jumper!  It may be chilly and foggy outside but there was a very warm feeling in the Key Stage 2 hall where Christmas Lunch was served to 428 pupils and staff today.  Children were served a traditional Christmas lunch by staff complete with crackers and Christmas music.  - 06/12/2016

Science Club

The children have had a great deal of fun and have learnt an awful lot in the first term.  So far they have completed many investigations on chemical reactions and they have all earned their Science Club badge. This term they will be learning about 'Electricity' and no doubt Mr Green will have more exciting things in the pipeline. - 09/11/2016

European Day of Languages

On Monday 26th September, we celebrated European Day of Languages at Lawn Primary School. All the children from year 1 to year 6 took part and as a school we learnt 8 new languages: Norwegian, Croatian, Polish, German, French, Spanish, Dutch and Italian. Many activities took place throughout the day to help the children learn about different cultures including traditional games, songs and food tasting. They also learnt to speak some of their class' language. Some classes learnt useful phrases while others learnt numbers and colours. We finished the day with a whole school assembly, during which every class presented what they had learnt and shared some of their work with the rest of the school.    - 07/10/2016

WaterAid Total

As part of the Farmer's Market and Craft Fayre we helped to raise £185.00 for WaterAid.  WaterAid will be using this money to help get water to even more communities and schools in order that children will be able to drink clean, safe water all day, instead of collecting dirty water from a river, or simply going thirsty. - 15/09/2016

Year 6 Leaver's Service at Christchurch

On Friday 8th July the whole school walked to Christ Church in Old Town to watch the Year 6 perform in front of their parents.  They shared their memories of Lawn over the last 7 years, recited poetry, played instruments and sang their hearts out before receiving their Year 6 Certificates from Miss Jelley and Mrs James.  We can't wait to see what they will do in the Year 6 Leaver's Assembly next week! - 11/07/2016
