Information for parents- Starting Nursery 2021

Starting Nursery

Ready, Steady GO…

Welcome to your child’s ‘virtual’ induction to Lawn Nursery!

Due to current government guidance we are unable to invite you and your child to visit. We want your child to start with confidence and settle quickly: the ideas listed below will help your child to feel happy and secure when they join us in September.

The children will be able to familiarise themselves with the teachers who work in the Nursery by looking at photographs and videos on our website. We would also like to offer the opportunity to chat to you and your child through a ‘virtual home visit’. We would love to get to know your child and find out about their favourite toys, activities and even meet the family pets! Look out for an e.mail inviting you to this meeting.

This is the start of an exciting learning journey for your child!

Here is a video tour of our nursery classrooms and the staff you will meet.  Please take a look!   Nursery Tour

Stories to share

We have suggested a range of books that can help to prepare your child for nursery including stories that may help your child to understand their feelings about starting Nursery and spending time away from their home and family. Our job is to listen to any worries they may have and give them time to talk about them.

Stories are a great way of getting our little people to open up about the feelings they have inside. Here are some lovely stories which may help.  The stories are available online.
