Family Support Worker

Emma Maclennan5

Hi my name is Emma Maclennan and I am the early years family support worker. It has been great to meet many of you over the first few weeks of the school year and I look forward to meeting those I have not yet met over the next few weeks. I have worked with early year’s children and their families for over 20 years, so hope I will be able to share some of my experience and knowledge with you. As we all know children don’t come with a handbook, each child is unique and each can present their own range of challenges. As a family support worker I can offer practical advice and guidance on a wide range of these challenges by providing;

  • A listening ear

  • Individual support

  • The opportunity to meet other parents in small groups

  • Tools, skills and ideas to support you with any challenges you are facing at home or within nursery

  • Help with signposting and referrals to outside agencies

I work closely with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team as well as the family support worker for the school and the Nurture team. I look forward to developing the nurture provision within the nursery which will focus on the children’s personal, social and emotional development. I am also the deputy safeguarding lead for the school and nursery. To view further information about Safeguarding please click here

Please come and find me for a chat, if I’m not in nursery just ask one of the school nursery staff and they will point you in the right direction. Alternatively you can call me on 01793 522626 and we can arrange a time to meet.
